Our Best Day Ever. Vo. I
Updated: May 14, 2020
July 28, 2019.
Our best day ever.
After all the hours of planning and praying, our day was finally here and I hardly could believe it.
The day started early as the first hair and makeup times begin at 9am. My mom, my Maid of Honor and I drove three cars down to Charlotte filled to the brim with dresses, flowers, signage and all the decorations. I really enjoyed this quiet car ride that I got to myself during the 45 minute commute from home to Belk Chapel. I spent that time praying and jamming out, while soaking in all the moments knowing this day was going to fly by.
Our wedding ceremony was at Belk Chapels in Queens University of Charlotte. The story behind our ceremony location… Such a beautiful venue but we really did not have any special connection to it. Now, our reception location is a whole God story (I will touch on that later) but the people in charge of our reception location said most of their couples get married at Belk Chapel. So, there we were and it couldn’t have been more spectacular.
My dress. I love it so much. It’s the epitome of “me.” Best part, it was the first dress I picked out and tried on!! I tried on a few more after but I knew this one was the one.

My flowers. Ah, so beautiful and the best part, my mom did them!!! How special is that? I had no part in designing or picking out the flowers. She knew what my favorites were and what I had envisioned. They turned out even better than I had imagined! I wish I could have kept my bouquet forever!
Getting Ready

I felt like a princess! Again, Jennifer is so talented. When I did my hair and makeup trial with her a few weeks before, I had a different picture in mind on what I wanted my hair to look like. But, we changed a few things and ended up with this in the end. I am so glad we did!
My little hair piece is from Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. My precious cousin was expecting a little boy very close to my wedding date so we knew she wouldn’t be able to make the trip to NC for the wedding. So, we went to Disney with her in August to celebrate the engagement and she helped me pick out a tiara that I turned into a hair piece to wear on my wedding day.

The morning getting ready with my girls will go down as one of my all time favorite memories. From me stomping around the room acting like I was in a step crew, to popping my first champagne bottle and leaving a dent in the ceiling, and to all the laughs and a few tears in between, it was a perfect morning.
Our First Look
Our first look, the moment we had been waiting for. I am so thankful we decided to do a first look! It eased all my emotions and made the ceremony calm and enjoyable. Also, Randy and I got to have a moment to exchange gifts that we had for each other. I had written him “letters to my future husband” for many years and he had made a photo album of all our memories and notes from over the years. What priceless gift and moment that we will forever cherish!

My girls… Each and every one of these women are so special to me. From every walk of life: cousin, life long friends, preschool, middle school, college, and new sisters. I am so blessed to have each of them stand by my side on our special day!

Randy and I have been so blessed with the greatest friends. Our wedding day would have not been complete without them.
Did you really expect groomsmen photos without some football? Also, the socks were a fun touch for groomsmen gifts to add some personality to each one.
