Stuttgart Surge
We are moving back to GERMANY!!!
As you may have seen by now, Randy has officially signed to play for the Stuttgart Surge in the European League of Football! We are so excited to officially have this news out in the open.

First off... Oh how bittersweet this is to announce, as our hearts are forever in Copenhagen and the Towers are our family. We are forever grateful for the memories made and the life long cherished friendships, Denmark will forever be a second home. Going back to the Towers last season was the most amazing God answered prayer, redemption season, and it ended on a perfect note winning the Mermaid Bowl.
As we close the last chapter we are so excited for the next one! Randy has officially signed to play Quarterback for the Stuttgart Surge! The ELF had their inaugural season last year starting with 8 teams and the 2022 season they have expanded to 12 teams. It has been so cool to watch this league take off from afar, and now we are even more pumped to officially be a part of it!

As always, God works in amazing ways. Back in 2019-2020 when we lived in Ulm, Germany, Randy went to a coaching convention. There he met the head coach of the then Stuttgart Scorpions, who is now the head coach of the Stuttgart Surge and this was before the ELF was in existence. Funny enough Randy's German visa is still valid till 2023.
Life is coming full circle, again.
At the beginning of January we had a fun visit from two members of the Surge's media departments, all the way from Germany! Such an awesome experience getting to watch them document Randy's day to day life preparing for the upcoming football season and telling his football story. We so enjoyed having Marius and Svenja stay with us for a few days and getting to show them around the Charlotte area. We are looking forward to having them show us around Stuttgart.
Make sure to check out the amazing video that they created for Randy's announcement. This is something we will forever cherish and will show our kids one day!
The plan is for Randy to leave for Germany at the end of April. He will go straight into training camp and I plan on heading over the pond in the middle of May. The football season runs from the beginning of June till the end of September.
The first game is Sunday, June 5th against the Barcelona Dragons!!

We will be living in an apartment, we are not sure exactly where yet. We also found out that we will get to share a van with some of the other players, having a vehicle is a game changer! Stuttgart has a Five Guys, Subway, TK Maxx (TJ Maxx) and Lululemon, so I will be set! I also found a CrossFit gym and hot yoga studio that I am excited about!
That is the extent of the details that we have right now.
So,
Let's go Surge!
